Proper care and maintenance are crucial for extending the lifespan of your outdoor furniture. Covering or storing these pieces when not in use can help prevent fading and other damage. In general, all our products are low maintenance. For specific questions, please contact us at sales@sissonne.au.
General Cleaning:
-
Clean spills immediately.
-
Dust and clean regularly with a soft cloth.
Teak:
-
Teak is an extremely durable hardwood that requires very little care.
-
It requires no special treatment and will naturally weather to a beautiful grey patina.
-
If you wish to maintain its original color, maintenance every 6-12 months is recommended. We can provide product recommendations.
-
Note: When maintaining teak, ensure teak stain does not come into contact with rope or fabric, as this may cause permanent staining.
Ecolene® (Synthetic Wicker):
-
Ecolene® is a highly durable, temperature-insensitive synthetic wicker.
-
It is free from cracking, splintering, and corrosion.
-
These pieces are comfortable, durable, and lightweight.
Rattan:
-
Natural rattan is very low maintenance, requiring only regular dusting with a soft cloth.
-
Note: We do not recommend leaving natural rattan outside in the weather, as it will deteriorate over time.
Synthetic Water Hyacinth:
-
This product is easily maintained by wiping with a soft, damp cloth.
-
It can withstand all weather conditions, but we recommend it be covered or put undercover when not in use for extended periods.
Olefin Fabric:
-
Olefin is a premium, soft, and extremely durable outdoor fabric.
-
Most marks can be removed with a soft, damp cloth and a solution of lukewarm water and a gentle detergent.
-
For a full clean, covers can be machine washed on a gentle cycle (max 20-30c) with zips zipped up. Air dry covers completely.
'Quick Dry' Reticulated Foam:
-
This premium foam is specifically designed for outdoor use.
-
Its open-cell structure allows water and air to pass through quickly, protecting against mold and mildew.
-
It can be cleaned by a light hose down.
Marine-Grade Rope:
-
Our marine-grade rope is low maintenance and generally only requires a wipe with a light cloth.
-
Wipe spills immediately with a soft cloth soaked in a mild soapy water solution.
-
Do not use abrasive materials, excessive scrubbing, or high-pressure hoses.
-
Keep sharp objects away from ropes to avoid cutting or fraying.
-
Note: Ensure teak treatment does not come into contact with the rope, as this could cause staining.
